I have been working with Healthy Utah for the past four years. Previously, I worked as a Community Health Specialist and a Program Coordinator for the Utah Department of Health's, Cardiovascular Program. I received my B.A. and M.S. degrees in Health Education from the University of Utah , and am actively involved in two professional organizations, the Directors of Health Promotion and Education (DHPE), and the Utah Public Health Association.

Although my formal training is in physical activity, my main responsibilities are the Healthy Utah web site and myHealthyUtah maintenance. I'm certified in cholesterol measurement, blood pressure, and all other HU testing procedures. My other interests include graphic design, desktop video production, photography, listening to music, reading, running, and raising a Rat Terrier (Bo) and a Lab/Shepherd mix (Baylee).

My responsibilities are to develop marketing plans for Healthy Utah; write monthly articles for the Work Elevated newsletter and various other departmental newsletters; present at New Employee Orientations, at Benefit Fairs and Open Enrollment meetings, and wellness seminars on various topics as requested; and serve as a resource for tobacco cessation. I am certified in cholesterol measurement, blood pressure, and all other HU testing procedures. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education from Brigham Young University and I am also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). I am originally from Arizona, and I love cooking, eating, running and watching sports (my favorite is baseball…Go D-backs!)

I graduated from the University of Utah with a BFA in Modern Dance, where I was also a former Ute Cheer leader. I am still an avid Utes Sports fan. GO UTES! I Currently teach part time for the University of Utah Children's Dance Theater. I also am involved with the Utah Jazz Stunt team (cheerleading) and perform at many of their home basketball games. I love spending time outdoors, doing just about anything. My job is to provide assistance to the Healthy Utah Staff and participants of Healthy Utah program. I process rebates and schedule testing session appointments. I also handle day to day office projects.

I present Wellness Seminars, particularly in the area of stress management and communication. I assist agencies in establishing Wellness Councils and support their on-going efforts. I'm also the moderator for Healthy Utah's WorkWell listserv. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Health Education from Brigham Young University. I'm also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, lifting weights, kickboxing, and spending time outdoors. I also love to read, watch movies, and cook.

I am new to Healthy Utah as well as the area. I recently relocated here from Charleston South Carolina. I graduated from the University of Dayton in Ohio with a B.S. in Dietetics and this past fall, I became a Certified Diabetes Educator. .My background is primarily in the clinical setting but I am excited to be moving into the area of preventative care! I present nutrition-related Wellness Seminars, schedule and teach the Lighten Up! weight management classes, organize diabetes education classes, and provide nutrition and meal planning counseling. In addition, I moderate Healthy Utah's Lighten Up! and Take Charge listserves, and write monthly nutrition articles for our web site.

My area of focus in Healthy Utah is in promoting physical activity at all levels, from the beginner to the advanced athlete. In the past I have worked on general fitness topics, as well as special populations such as the elderly, pregnancy and the severely unconditioned. My undergraduate degree is in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Utah, and I have a Master's of Science in Public Health from Walden University. Currently I am working on my doctorate in public health with an emphasis in community health, focusing on physical activity and the environment. I am a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Health/Fitness Instructor. I'm the proud parent of two wonderful and active children who know how to keep me moving!

I am Healthy Utah's testing staff supervisor, and have been with Healthy Utah since 1993. I completed my undergraduate work in Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Utah. I enjoy meeting with Healthy Utah participants throughout the state and strive to help them set goals to improve their health and well-being. In my spare time I keep active chasing after my three children. They always provide me a great work-out!
