Wellness Council

Logan's Wellness Council was formed in July of 2005. Since their inception, they have had monthly activities to help promote good health and wellness in the Logan Office. Some examples are; Activities and tips to promote healthy eating, exercise, life satisfaction, trying new fruits/vegetables and healthy recipes, and good dental health. They have organized and conducted exercise activities involving basketball, biking, and walking. Other life satisfaction and wellness activities have included; sound financial management, getting and staying organized, maintaining good mental health, happiness, and overall life satisfaction.

They also applied for and were awarded a health mini-grant. This money was used to purchase prizes to be given away to employees for participating in various wellness activities. There are 40 plus employees in the Logan Office and there has been very good participation in these wellness programs. There has also been tremendous support from office management. The Council loves brainstorming for new ideas on how to get more employees involved. Recently they held their first annual March Madness Basketball game. Participating staff members were divided into two teams and the Wellness Council was able to obtain t-shirts from a local printing company for each team member. They had month-long activities to promote the game and to gear up for the big event. During their stand-up meetings every Tuesday morning, employees got to shoot 4 shots at a little mini-hoop hanging on a door. If you made 2 of the 4 shots, you won a fabulous prize. Some prizes (such as free bowling passes) were donated by local companies. Logan's Wellness Council has affectionately been named "Wells Angels" and they look forward to many more years of WELLNESS!
