Price City Wellness Council

The Price City Wellness Council Subcommittee for Activities, organized a Poker Walk on May 10, 2007. The Poker Walk was held at the Cove Basin Park in Price City. The park has a paved track that is approximately 1/3 mile around and has very small hills & valleys. This makes for an excellent place to hold an event such as this.

A Poker Walk is where you pay a fee and each trip around the track you draw a card and the best poker hand, after 5 laps, wins 50% of the pot. The second best hand wins 30% of the prize money and the third best wins 20%. Those who did not want to participate in poker did not have to.

Price City Walk

We had 40 people walk and 36 participate in poker. Fresh ice water was available during the walk and healthy refreshments were served after the walk. This gave all the participants time to sit and visit with each other while the prize money was separated and awarded.

The feedback we have received has been very positive. We have had suggestions for other areas for the next walk from those who participated.
